Client: Nike Run
Most runners replace their shoes when they wear out. Great runners keep going until there is nothing left but the soleand proof they never held back.
Nike celebrates those who push every step, and every shoe, to the very end.
Infinity Track
For runners who never know when to quit, Nike built the Infinity Track a course with no finish line.
Because great runners do not stop when the miles run out. They stop when their shoes do.
Run For Nothing Marathon
Nike created an ultramarathon with no set distance and no finish line. The race ends only when the runners have worn their Nike shoes down to nothing.
Nothing Left but Legacy
Nike and The Met turn worn-out running shoes into museum pieces, honoring the miles, discipline, and determination behind every pair. Because some shoes are not thrown away. They are remembered.
Runners mark the miles it took to wear out their Nikes, then place the shoes on a personalized gravestone a memorial to every mile they gave.
The Finish Bin
Nike creates dedicated bins for completely worn-out running shoes, challenging runners who throw theirs away too soon. Because a shoe is not finished until the miles are.
See What They’ll Become
Nike’s window display features its newest running shoes as worn-out pairs on display, while the runner standing in front wears a brand-new pair. A foot-level mirror installation reflects the runner’s fresh shoes, creating a contrast between where every run begins and what great runners leave behind.
The Last Shoebox
After runners wear their Nikes to the very end, Nike gives each pair one final box custom packaging that preserves the shoes, the miles, and the story behind them.
